To offer care, rehabilitation, and a permanent home to animals who are unable to be placed in a traditional home setting due to previous abuse, neglect, or who have special needs. To educate the general public on the importance of eliminating companion animal over population through spaying and neutering, and to provide education on the proper care and responsibility of pet ownership.
Unfortunately, not all animals are suitable for a traditional home setting, and sadly, many of them are euthanized as an only alternative. Many of these animals still have a quality life. Here at Forever Home Animal Sanctuary we provide that alternative for those animals. Once the animals enter the sanctuary, they are promised to never again suffer from hunger, loneliness, or mistreatment. They are spayed or neutered and receive any further medical care they may need.
We provide a very loving, home-like atmosphere without using cages. Climate-controlled shelters are designed with comfortable furniture and large picture windows. Each shelter is equipped with pet doors, allowing the animals access to fresh air and the freedom to romp and play in their safely secured large outdoor play area
An animal sanctuary is a facility where animals are brought to live and be protected for the rest of their lives. Unlike animal shelters, sanctuaries do not seek to place animals with individuals or groups. Instead, they maintain each animal until his or her natural death.
In some cases, an establishment may have characteristics of both a sanctuary and a shelter. For instance, some animals may be in a residence temporarily, until a good home is found; others may be permanent residents (for Forever Home Animal Sanctuary's policy on this, please see the FAQ's section) The mission of sanctuaries is to be a safe haven where the animals receive the best care possible for the sanctuary's means.
Animals are not bought, sold, traded, or used for animal testing. Resident animals are given the opportunity to behave as naturally as possible in a protective environment.
Unlike an animal institution or zoo, we are not open to the public and we minimize any activity that would place animals in an unduly stressful situation. However, Forever Home Animal Sanctuary does welcome sponsors, donors, or anyone interested in visiting the sanctuary to contact us to set up an appointment. We also strive to educate — to ultimately change the way humans regard, and treat, animals.
